it is better to travel well than to arrive.

So I've been trying to save my money, but I've dipped into my stash of course since I'm a struggling full time worker/part-time grad student living in the DC area, and emergencies happen. But I am slowly turning into a responsible adult. I'm even researching stock options, and considering how I can save for future business opportunities.  As much as I would like to spend my money on the things I need, I prefer to spend my money having the time of my life. I mainly want to use my money to pay back my student loans for travel. I haven't been to many places outside of Virginia or the East Coast so it's time to go further. I've checked off one city from my to-do list: Los Angeles! I would like to visit the Caribbean and Las Vegas this year. I currently have no stamps on my passport! These places are at the top of my list: Morocco, Belgium, Paris, South Africa, the West Indies, and Egypt.  I'll reach all of those places at least once during my lifetime. Which countries or cities are at the top of your travel list?

"This world is being made from our lives, our cries, our laughter, our bones." -Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D

I love this picture. I'm not sure what we were laughing about, but every time I look at it, I smile. We just recently met, but our connection was instant! We enjoy good burgers, SATC, and furry pink socks. Perfect, right? The world is being made from the stranger across the street that somehow became your friend/homegirl/soul-mate overnight.

living for the weekend.

It takes forever to get to the weekend and once we get there it flies by. This past weekend was a weekend full of friends, celebrations, and wine of course. If only they could last longer.

Leaving Chrysalis Vineyards

Enjoying the live jazz band at Chrysalis Vineyards

stronger than pride

She's unbelievably beautiful. I get goosebumps when I look at her. I can only hope to age as well as she does. Her music speaks to my heart and soul. I can listen to her all day on repeat, which is probably why my cd is starting to skip now. Sade thank you for getting me through those heartbreaks and thank you for showing me how amazing love is. There's no pretending and no matter how stupid we feel for love, it's not a crime because it's only love that gets us through.
